Meet The Artist: Paige Petrocco
Paige was born and raised in Colorado. At the old age of 10 she told her parents she wanted a horse. Figuring she was going through the horse girl phase every little girl goes through, they told her she could join riding lessons. After 3 years of lessons, riding with friends, and working at barns- she proved the love of the west wasn't just a phase. At 13, her mom bought her first horse, Layla (Champagne Playgirls Invasion). From there- the obsession only grew worse! Paige has dedicated her life to the western and equine industry and her love for jewelry follows suit!
In 2024 she took a metal smithing class as a creative outlet. She quickly fell in love with the craft and knew she could do it herself! She combined the skills from class with her love of turquoise and hit the ground running! Today, she is making handmade, one of a kind pieces that will last a lifetime! She takes a "funky" modern approach to classic western styles to make something completely her own.
Paige invites you to see the perfect imperfections in her handmade art and encourages you to buy from real working cowgirls like herself!
The Horse Behind the Name
Introducing Play girls Invasion (Layla)! Layla is a 15 year old champagne palomino quarter horse who rules over her herd of 2 geldings! Paige bought Layla when she was 13 and Layla was 5... a baby teaching a baby! Layla had never been ridden and had a foal on the ground during their first meeting. Paige's mom, Layla's seller, and perhaps some bystanders were all nervous for this boss mare to interact with a small girl... but if you know horse people you know where this story is going! Paige fell in love with Layla and took her home a few weeks later. She worked with a trainer to get Layla saddle broke. From then on they have been glued together at the hip.
"Layla has been there for a lot of my firsts. my first horse, my first failures, my first horse show, my first time competing for a national rodeo queen title! She has been my rock since day one and I'm so grateful to have grown up with her"- Paige
Layla resides at Paige's family ranch where she rules over her two goofy geldings enjoying 3 square meals a day!!
"There's nobody and nothing that could have been the name of my next "first" in creating handmade art. It's an honor to get to say her name everyday while I talk about my jewelry!" - Paige
